SmartARTS 2020

2020 SmartARTS

SmartARTS is excited to announce that it will be part of a new initiative in response to the pandemic. Funded by the CARES Act and in collaboration with Greenville County Schools, Greenville County First Steps, and YMCA of Greenville, Greenville County has identified dozens of sites to provide full-time day camps for more than 9,000 school-age children for 10 weeks. The SmartARTS program will partner with select locations to bring in-person curriculum-based arts integration learning to impact the academic achievement of the children of essential workers. SmartARTS teaching artists have the unique ability to use the arts to reinforce, extend, and deepen student learning during a time when many students are falling behind. As part of this initiative, funds from the Cares Act will cover the cost of teaching artist fees and some art supplies. The initiative will begin the week of September 8th, 2020.

The Prisma Health SmartARTS Education Institute

The SmartARTS Training Institute is held annually during July. This year we are also offering on-site arts integration training for Greenville County Schools at no cost to the school.
